Beyond the shore

Every year, hundreds of South African children lose their lives to drowning - many of them in communities where access to swimming lessons and basic water safety education is limited or non-existent. For children who live near rivers, dams, or the coast, simply playing outside can carry real danger.

We are committed to a sustainable future for all through educating, supporting, and funding positive environmental projects.

Always On Green

John Dory’s is proud to be associated with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), and the South African Sustainable Seafood Initiative (SASSI) – serving seafood from only SASSI’s approved Green list.

Our oceans produce over 70% of the oxygen that we breathe & there are over 12 000 different marine species living in the oceans around South Africa.

September hosts various key environmental days, both local and international which John Dory’s have supported over the years. In 2025, with the support of our valued franchisees, we embarked on a three-week clean-up tour in which were able to collect 7738.90 kg of waste.
